Hiking holidays at the Pichlerhof

Hiking holidays are among the most popular reasons why visitors come to stay on our farm. At the Pichlerhof, the hiking trail starts right at our doorstep! Winding its way across the meadows and through forests, up the slopes of the Gitschberg mountain, the trails also lead to our very own refuge: the rustic Pichlerhütte mountain hut at an elevation of 1,920 m. Rising quickly up to 2,000 meters, the cable car is a comfortable and convenient mode of ascent. Easy hiking trails extend right across the Valsertal Valley all the way up to the rustic Alpine refuges on the Fane Alm mountain pastures. More challenging hikes up to the summits wind their way along the valley in neighbouring Pfunders as far as the snow-capped peaks of the Zillertal Alps.

There are in excess of 40 mountain huts and pastures spread throughout the Gitschberg-Jochtal Alpine region including long stretches of scenic hiking trails, some of them leisurely, while others are more demanding. Organised hiking trips with a guide follow the tracks from one farm to another. These popular itineraries run through Pfunders and the picturesque hiking trails of the Altfasstal Valley.
